One of the earliest right hand drive R107s. One UK owner from new and I’m the second since the car was imported in 2007. Very original, right down to the 8-track stereo and collection of cassettes! The original owner drove the car regularly until 1989 (158,000miles) when it was taken off the road, dry stored, until 1994 when the history file records substantial recommissioning work by a MB dealer and a new MOT. Complete set of MOT certs since then, covering minimal mileage. Sadly the owner passed away and his family sold the car to an Irish classic car enthusiast in 2007.
Original Papyrus white paintwork and chrome and perfect shut lines. The interior, in virtually unmarked MB-Tex material, is in very good condition and the car has a matching dark blue soft top which has been recently revived.
The 3.5 L V8 rumbles into life at the first turn of the key and settles down to its characteristic burble. I have enjoyed two road trips, travelling around the lakes in Scotland last year and just back from a 1700 km staycation in the south, Southwest and west of Ireland.
The front bumper chrome is good but the mounting has rusted. There are other areas of rust appearing in the engine bay and in small areas around the paintwork.
The car comes with matching hardtop and it’s wheeled trolley, spare hubcaps, electric ceiling mounted hardtop hoist and various spares. Only selling to make room for a
new arrival.
Two sets of keys, original manual, extensive service file, documents, manufacturers manual and MOT certs.
